OUR MISSION
South Dakota Hunting is a website founded, operated and strategically postured toward the pursuit of a fivefold mission:
Awareness
- 1. To promote and increase nationwide recognition of South Dakota as a premiere hunting destination through the showcasing of the diversity, abundance and quality of the game that can be hunted within the state.
Resource
- 2. To give hunters a place where they can easily find all the information and resources they need to hunt in South Dakota.
Promotion
- 3. To assist those who derive their livelihood from hunting or hunting related activities within South Dakota by the ongoing promotion of their operations.
Community
- 4. To create an online community of hunters from coast to coast who can draw on each other's strengths and experiences to help ensure successful hunts within South Dakota.
Sustainability
- 5. To continually promote the sport of hunting as not only a means to enjoy and partake in the abundance of nature, but additionally as a means to develop and build relationships.

Conservation
In the tradition of the great founders of the sport, South Dakota Hunting is dedicated to the ongoing conservation of both the land and the animals that thrive upon it. Balancing a hunters needs with that of the wildlife, South Dakota Hunting seeks to promote the conservative use of our God given natural resources.
Fair Chase
We seek to promote the ethical fair chase approach to hunting, and believe in the ethical, sportsmanlike, lawful pursuit of free-ranging wild animals in a manner that does not give the hunter an improper advantage over the game.
Generational Continuance
In a culture that is increasingly hostile toward hunters and the hunting lifestyle, our actions must always help to preserve, enhance and protect the image of hunting and hunters. We believe that the sport of hunting should be available for our children and that every hunter should have opportunity to experience hunting within South Dakota. In order to ensure that those that follow in our footsteps are able to continue to experience the joys of hunting, we must maintain the highest quality of professionalism and expertise so that our freedoms, our sport and the joy it provides is available for generations to come.
