This is because the danger involved with bear hunting delivers more of a rush than elk or caribou hunting. Like running with the bulls, bear hunting brings a sort of insane glee to the hunter and delivers certain thrills that they are not likely to get anywhere else. As I said before, around here, in Eastern South Dakota it's deer hunting this time of year. For people new to the sport getting a whitetail deer is a big enough rush rather than going after bear. Deer hunting is good here and there is plenty of land to hunt. If you don't have your bow hunting trip for deer planned yet you'd better hurry. Time is running out and around here almost every motel and lodge is full. It's pheasant, duck, goose and deer season so it's busy.
